Sooo kinda been talking about this au but wanted to actually summarize what it was and stuff cause there is no context- jsut like, headcanons and stuff for the au- I am gonna write it, jsut gitta get started soooo for now I'm jsut gonna talk about it lol

Anyways, the Hazbins Fallen au is a fallen Emily au, but uh, jsut a bit different-

So essentially Emily is tired of being treated as a kid, tired of being called lucifers replacement and all that, she just git out if a fight with Sera and.....sees some angles leaving, que her confusion

Due tit hat confusion she follows after them through the portal before it closes, she.....was not prepared for the scene infront of her, luckily she landed in a low populated area but the mroe she walked the more screams could be heard

The sight....isn't very pretty, blood splattered and angles standing over demons dead bodies and her fight or flight kicks in and she jsut runs, she doesn't understand what's happening and surely Sera will right? She tries to find Adam, or Lute, because she's to panicked to make a proper portal and.....well, finds them in the akkyway with Vaggie, que her running around the corner and nearly throwing up because how could they do that, why woukd they jsut rip off someone's wings liek that?

She doesn't realize when the senseless slaughter ends and the angles leave. She does end up slowly going back to that ally because she wasn't going to jsut leave her and kinda just, meakly waves at chalrie and Vaggie liek 'heyyyy you uh....you good-'

Charlie goes home with two stray cats that day to put it simply-

So yeah Charlie woukd know their both angles, she doesn't care, their hers now. Emily does end up getting a disguise via putting her magic in this necklace to make one, as long as she wears it no one can tell she's an angle

She did want to go back up to heaven but....not anymore, especially not after spending some time with them- she's kinda scared of Sera now, scared she'll take her away from them

Derek, after putting his armor and helmet back on, carried Stiles back to the Lycan and checked him for any visible injuries. Assuming the younger man was gonna be out for a while, he went about checking and fixing parts of the ship's vitals/mechanics he deemed necessary until he ultimately went to just watch over Stiles. Some hours later, sat across the cot Derek watched as he finally awoke...

Stiles: (stretching) Ughhh, (turns his head and jumps when he sees Derek) Ahh! Oh my Maker

Derek: (slightly amused but doesn't move or say anything) ...

Stiles: ... (waits a bit to see if he'll say anything) Are you okay? I didn't mess anything up did I?

Derek: ...

Derek: You're a jetii

Stiles: ...

Stiles: No. I'm force sensitive. (looks down at his hands and starts to fidget with them) My mom taught me, just like her dad taught her. He was the one who became a jedi, but he left to be with my grandmother

Derek: (a bit confused) ...How aren't you a jedi?

Stiles: (huffs a little laugh) For one? (gestures to his entire being) I don't have a lightsaber and I don't follow the traditional jedi mantra

Stiles: (smile widening) After this bounty, (takes another small step forward) we will return to Naboo and we'll have a small wedding that my dad will be able to attend

Derek: (smiles and laughs a little) Okay, and?

Stiles: (takes one last step towards Derek) I want several kisses from my husband, whenever I want

Derek: (eyes wrinkling from how much he's smiling and walks to finally close the distance between them, and wrap his hands around his waist to pull him flush against himself) Is that all cyar'ika?

Stiles: (pleased, raising his arms to place over his shoulders and rest his hands behind his neck) Mhmm~

*Stiles just taking his time and getting his fill on finally being able to stare into his partners eyes and take note of his other features like his thick brows and seemingly soft hair. Meanwhile, Derek's also enjoying being able to fully explore the depths of brown and gold in his riduur's eyes, but is mostly loving how he gets to finally hold him in such a loving manner.*

Alright, gonna rattle off some Hazbin Hotel theories just to get them out of my system:

1) The Key that Lilith gave Charlie is the key to the pearly gates, aka a way into heaven. Which is why the cat didn't like Sir Pretentious until he was redeemable and why the key is the symbol used to depict the hotel on both the logo of the show and the logo on the hotel.

2) Lilith didn't just abandon everyone to vacay in heaven. Following my previous theory, she already had the key to heaven (likely given to her by Adam as a 'please come back 🥺🥺🥺' gift). From Charlie's recounting of the story, her mom loves hell and thrives down there so I'm really not buying this whole 'retire in heaven as Adam's rebound' thing. I'm going to say that Lilith infiltrated heaven under the guise of taking back Adam and being 'the good wife' again but she is 100% using her access to heaven to pull strings and get her grand plan going. She may have to keep Lute happy next season to keep her access, but it's not because she's a turncoat, it's because she's got motives.

3) Throwing this out there: I think it has something to do with Eve! I haven't even met Eve yet but I ship Eve and Lilith. Maybe Adam had Eve locked up somewhere and Lilith is trying to free her or, maybe Eve disappeared, hence why Adam wanted a new wife and Lilith is trying to find her or something.

4) Carmilla is Eve. Yeah, so the name Carmilla means 'Garden or Orchid', Carmine means 'Song or Crimson Red', she looks EXACTLY like Lilith except with a different color palette (and she's wearing angel steel ballet shoes and gloves), she styles her hair up to look like horns but she doesn't actually have any of her own, she killed an angel, she knew all about angel weaknesses and how to kill them, she figured out how to reforge angel steel into new weapons, and, most importantly, SHE HAS TWO KIDS THAT SHE IS VERY PROTECTIVE OF.

Now, part of me wants to say that Zestial, the confirmed oldest sinner in Hell, the super powerful demon that rules over the other overlords who cares immensely about Carmilla and vice versa, is actually Cain. Cain, aka Eve's son and the first murderer (and theologically rumored to be Lucifer's child which uhhhhh, the show kinda seems to be hinting at with Lucifer implying that him and Eve had a thing?) So yeah, I like the idea that Carmilla loves her son despite his flaws and is trying to keep him safe in hell (knowing that Abel is completely fine in heaven)

But I also kinda want to say that Odette is Abel and Clara is Cain? Look, Odette is wearing a headband with demon horns sticking out of it. Her horns look fake. Also, come on, Odette and Clara?? As in the lead characters from Swan Lake and the Nutcracker?? I'm not going to get into why renaming Cain after Clara from the NUTCRACKER is hilarious as it's pretty obvious. But renaming Abel after Odette, the princess with wings who literally dies and ends up in heaven at the end of the play, is also pretty obvious ngl. So I do also kinda think that Eve and Abel were chilling in heaven and then either Abel fell or Eve got word about the annual culling of sinners, and the two of them took on fake names and reunited with Cain/Clara. Eve is determined to do whatever it takes to keep her children safe and, while she does not like participating in violence, she will kill to protect her daughters. (And potentially Zestial is Clara's father? As Cain is rumoured to be either Lucifer's child or a demon's child)

EDIT: Okay I literally just realized that in the song "Whatever it Takes" she hugs her daughters and says that she will "be their keeper" which is a play on what Cain said to God after killing Abel. God asked where Abel was and Cain said "I am not my brother's keeper." So Carmilla in that song is vowing to keep her daughters safe by preventing war with heaven and being "their keeper".

5) Adam created all of the Exorcists from his ribs. Adam mentioned that he named Vaggie which either implies that Adam is Vaggie's father or that Adam created the entire Exorcist race. Considering Lilith and Eve were both created from Adam's ribs, all the Exorcists are women, they're called 'sisters', and all of them are bone white with 'angel blood' gold eyes, I think the dude just straight up made them all with his bones! Adam even offered a plate of ribs to Charlie when he was taunting her about killing off her citizens!

sometimes I wonder if my parents are part of the reason I’m so scared of being vulnerable.

uhhhhh ramble. not necessarily a vent, just getting some thoughts out after a revelation I had. but it isn’t exactly my brand of silliness lol. and it’s long. so ye :P

showing people what I like rlly scares me. showing people what I do in my private time even more so. like, i essentially cannot listen or watch anything without headphones, with my screen turned away from the room. same with books. Even if it’s a friend who literally follows me on tumblr, i cannot type out a silly post with them looking over my shoulder. i just can’t.

and I don’t know why I’m like this. but I had a thought in the shower tonight.

my parents never trusted me to be safe online. but at the same time, they left me alone with full internet access at seven years old. obviously I saw shit I wasn’t supposed to! so they would just… ask me to show them the video I was watching. or to take off my headphones. sometimes they did this during family gatherings. and those moments, just nervously watching them judge every word said, every visual, and it was just agonizing. this was never an alone thing, there was always other family members in the room, watching me, judging me. And to add, I was a young child with undiagnosed ADHD, anxiety, and probably some other forms of neurodivergence. so I’d repeat lines under my breath, make motions with my hands. just stimming, Yknow? but if they saw me doing too much of that, they’d ask me to take my headphones off and replay it.

so I started turning my screen away. hiding it. getting more and more anxious any time they asked to check, even when I wasn’t watching anything bad. and for the record, they never found a single bad thing. maybe some swear words when I was like 10. oh, be still my heart. and then they asked me to do it. during thanksgiving.

when 10-12 total people were in the room.

most of which I never spoke too outside of family gatherings.

for a solid three minutes. just… staring at me. listening. judging.

I remember that feeling vividly.

and it just kept going. they stopped checking as I got older, as I gained their trust, as i got better at hiding. and they probably figured out that around 11-12 years old, they didn’t want to see whatever I was watching anyway. but the anxiety stayed. anytime they called my name, asked me a question, I would get this massive pang of anxiety. that they’d… I dunno, find out. that they’d looked through my tablet and would soon be shipping off my private personhood to some doctor to make me normal. that I’d be scolded, scorned, lose my access to my favorite games and content creators and all that.

that still remains. dulled, somewhat. but when my mom simply says my name to ask a question, I still get that pang.

I don't understand the "Izzy is a vile homophobe and maybe getting his toes cut off one by one was deserved" take, why is it in front of my eyes. I know it's partially because he used the horrible slur "namby pamby", you know, the worst thing Mr. fuck possibly could have thought to call Edward in that moment but come the fuck on.

This "be careful what you wish for" take makes sense a little more if your interpretation was that Izzy is just obsessed with the image of Blackbeard, can't stand seeing Ed not filling that role and doesn't know/want to know Ed as well as he thinks he does. I saw this reading a lot last season but like?? This is the guy who does Edwards murders for him, the guy that runs the ship when he's too unstable. He knows Blackbeard is a fucking performance, it's his job to be The Guy Who Knows That. The problem is that he thinks that performance is what's keeping everyone alive.

I think people just want what happened to be somebody's fault, like, you can't really blame Stede fully for leaving Ed, you can't really blame Ed fully for self destructing, and the only other person who Might bear any responsibility is Izzy, he was the catalyst and we already think Izzy sucks so,,,

Not to say Izzy doesn't suck, like, he's a representation of why being a pirate is so shitty. He's focused on survival to the degree that trying to be happy is a foreign and dangerous idea. He's going through a messy one sided divorce. He's an asshole and he treats vulnerability like a personal threat to his life. But also? Maybe it's bad to uhh, torture him for uhhhhh checks notes,,, calling Ed names???????

People are very opiniated too, fighting over and making essays about it. There's Elain/Az and Elain/Lucien (There's also Az and Gwen, but I understand how Az got in a love triangle.)

I'm just, struggling to care. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Elain, I just find her kinda boring. She doesn't do much. She feels like that classic fairytale princess that looks pretty and sad in a tower.

Off the top of my head, these are things that define her (Without being linked to men, becase I'm not there yet. Plus, a female character should be able to stand on her own without the men in her life)

And I'm out of ideas. From my point of view, she doesn't have any discernable personality. Her three major defining things when people think of her are: Pretty, flowers, soft.

She doesn't act for herself, she doesn't speak up. She goes with what happens and gets sad when she doesn't like it. (Becoming a fae was traumatic, and I understand her reaction, but I don't really like it. AND I HAVEN'T EVeN TOUCHED ON THE GREYSON[was that the human dude's name???]THING YET!)

So, when the books start, early ACOTAR. Archeron sisters are in the woods. Feyre is the only one doing something to support the family. Who is Elain in this book? Pretty gardener. Delicate. She isn't doing anything. Some can argue Nesta isn't either, and as a Nesta Supremist, I have to say she was willing to get married to someone cruel to make it easier on her family, and although that isn't much, it's still something. What does Elain do in this book? Be pretty. Please, someone give me an example of Elain doing something constructive and I will edit it in. Please.

Moving on. Next book. She... hosts the house along with Nesta. Oh! She's engaged to a fae hating guy (Who i think is named Greyson. I can't remember and I'm currently loaning out my 2nd and 3rd book, so I can't check rn). Uh.... I don't remember if she does anything else until the end, where she is captured and dumped in the caldron. We find out Lucien is her mate. EDIT!: As @devi1sange1 pointed out to me, Elain did stand up to Nesta about using their house as a meeting spot for the queens. She also takes responisblty for how they treated Feyre. 2 points for Elain. I give her those

She shows up more after that, so I'm not doing book by book, but she gets dumped fast by her fiancé and hangs out in the house of wind, being very sad. I almost wanna describe her as floaty, because she's acting like a ghost, just existing and mourning what is gone. This is a vaild response, and I understand why she responds this way, it just annoys me because she has not shown any autonomy so far. Anything. I think I remember her asking her ex-fiance to take in humans, but that was after being pushed by the inner circle. Uh... she gives a few prophecies, yay that. When the fighting starts, she stays on the sidelines, which I don't blame her for. She kinda kills the king of Hyburn. I think that's all she does in that.

After that. What does she do? Other than hang around??? I DON'T KNOW!

Elain shows no real drive! She exists and sometimes does stuff to push the plot!

Now onto the (possible) romantic interests she has.

Greyson: Uhhhhh, they like each other. She likes her because she's sweet and pretty. I didn't catch anything else between these two. Uh, he dumps her as soon as she's fae and she gets depressed over it

Lucien: Mating bond. She doesn't like him, I get it. He tries to back off. I think Lucien acts responsibly in this situation. Elain is at no fault in this situation either. Mating bonds don't always pair up the most romantic pair, and it doesn't always work out well. Honestly, I never saw much chemistry between these two, and if not for the bond, they likely would have forever ignored each other.

Azriel: (Random, but I searched him up on tumblr because I couldn't remember how to spell his name, and WOW, there's a lot of Azriel x reader. Yall really 'like' him) How, just how did this become such a popular ship? I never even caught this on my read through. Yeah, Az is nice to her, but he's nice to anyone considered friendly. He's just as nice to Feyre and I don't see anyone shipping those two. I just... don't get it. Is it because we want the sisters paired up with the bat boys? Is that it?? I don't understand. I see no chemistry. It's just two people being nice to one another guys.

I think those are the major ones. I don't understand any of them. Lucien and Az are such powerful charters, while Elain is... 'pretty flower girl'.

I don't hate her, but she kinda annoys me with how much crazines she's getting with people shipping her. Wanna know what i think would be great? She ends up with no one romantically. She has friends, just no romantic partner and that is perfectly fine. Lucien will live. If there's nothing between Az and Gwen, then Az will live.

To wrap up, I find Elain to be a pretty boring charter, I just feel indifferent towards her. I love the other two siblings, but I feel like Elaine could have been improved.

off to a great start with sunvant/lord eclipse. ik a lot of ppl like to make them fluffy but they got so much toxic potential. like idk man. the power imbalance + lord eclipse being both physically and emotionally abusive is some good shit. sunvant is absolutely and purely devoted to him. nothing eclipse could do would change that. every punishment is a lesson. every reward is a blessing. every command is a job he does happily. yes, hes absolutely terrified of his lord, but isnt everyone? isnt everyone meant to be scared of their god? if he isnt scared then is he really appreciating his lords true beauty and raw power? idk man. some good shit right there

the obvious sun/eclipse. i can never escape them in any form. main dimension sun/eclipse, dark sun/eclipse, sunbeam (eaps sun)/eclipse, sunvant/eclipse. all of the above pls. but if we're going with MAIN dimension suneclipse their relationship could be sooo many things. (which is y i like the ship so much bc its so versatile!) it could be a fixer-upper, abusive, friends/enemies with benefits, you name it. anything and everything is possible with these 2 bitches and its wonderful

sun/solar is actually the first thing i shipped. even BEFORE sun/eclipse. shocking, ik, but i felt like they had sooooo much potential THAT NOBODY FUCKING SAW. like- an emotionally broken down mechanic who feels guilty over the death of his own sun and an anxious mess that just wants to make things better. how could it be any more perfect??? solar coping over his suns death with sun by accepting that hes gone but at least he has another to love and he wont be empty forever. this is for my own au becuzzzz i wont let go of a chance to talk about them :3 we got sunshine(sunvant)/solstice(eclipse) and they are an absolute WRECK. theyre both fucked over by their past and the beginnings of their relationship is so rocky bc sunshine doesnt trust anyone + doesnt understand nor believe he deserves affection (hes also constantly wanting to go back to lord eclipse). meanwhile solstice doesnt even see sunshine as a person and rather as a project to work on (and also an opportunity to maybe better himself. maybe if he can help someone then that means he can be a better person). solar comes in later and while i havent Completely thought about their dynamics i will say that both solar and solstice are very overprotective of sunshine. they both constantly butt heads bc they both want to protect him while sunshine just sits in a corner head in hands trying to figure out how to get them to stop without having his own panic attack (they get better tho dw <3)

Mouthwashing and Balatro are both indie games that came out in 2024. In essence, Mouthwashing is a nonlinear storytelling walking sim with some light puzzles that relies on the player / audience to make inferences on key plot details. Meanwhile, Balatro is a roguelike / autobattler based on Poker that adds in fun and wacky upgrades, mutations and gamechanging alterations.

Mouthwashing uses PS2-era graphics as both an artistic style and a way to obfuscate certain details, relying on visual glitches, nonsensical surroundings and nightmarish confrontations to tell a story in a way that does not follow the linear path of time. The story follows the last manned crew ship of the company the Pony Express (they do long-term interstellar deliveries) and the five-person crew: Anya, the nurse; Swansea, the mechanic; Daisuke, the mechanic’s “intern;” Jimmy, the co-pilot; and Curly, the captain.

The POV switches between Jimmy, after The Crash, and Curly, before The Crash (the Crash, if you can imagine, is when *someone* intentionally causes the ship to crash). Even before The Crash, you can tell that the relationships between the characters are degrading, but after, it all falls apart. No spoilers, but Jimmy turns out to be an incredibly self-serving, horrific person that has done multiple inexcusable, unforgivable things. This game is very heavy and serious and gets incredibly abstract towards the end, so it may be very hard to follow after a certain point.

BALATRO, on the other hand, is a game that revolves very heavily on Poker! It has no plot and purely revolves around gameplay. You start out with a certain amount of hands (plays), cards, and discards. You use these to play normal Poker hands - each one gives a set amount of chips and mult (a scale to multiply your chips by) - to defeat “blinds” or levels where you have to reach a certain score to win. But eventually, you’ll get the ability to buy jokers and consumables - consumables upgrade the amount of points your hands can give you, can change the dynamics of your deck (starts out as a normal 52 card deck), or give bonuses. Jokers can do… almost anything. You can have a few at a time, and they can give you more points, scale (additionally or multiplicatively), fudge the rules or change the game in a minute way, and just in general make or break your game.

Each “ante” is made up of 3 blinds, and the last blind is a boss blind that has a unique debuff. You want to reach ante 8 to beat the game.

You can add more cards to your deck through purchases or consumables, remove cards through consumables, or add enhancements to cards all in the name of optimizing your run. Most players pick a type of hand to focus on for the entire run, like flushes or straights or pairs. And then you upgrade your hands, decks, and jokers accordingly.

Now, you’re probably asking because you’ve seen me reblog fan art of these jokers and are wondering about the interactions. In the game, it’s all just cards - there are no characters. But there are “synergies,” or certain jokers that work really well together - for example, a joker that gives bonuses when you play a straight and a joker that fudges the definition of a straight (maybe it makes it so that you can play a straight with 4 cards instead of 5, or you can skip ranks to make straights easier to play) will have great synergy because they rely on the same strategy.

People have started shipping jokers with popular synergies and drawing gijinkas of these jokers being romantic or whatever. I personally find the idea super fun and cute and that’s why I enjoy reblogging it. The most popular pairing by far is Brainstorm and Blueprint, both of whom copy any other joker’s ability - effectively triggering that other joker 3 total times when used together. It’s a very OP combination when played right, and almost everyone has agreed that these two jokers are both women, which is awesome imo.

A side note: the face of the game is the most basic joker, and he *does* have a rudimentary personality. His name is Jimbo and he runs you through the tutorial and makes fun of you when you lose. On the other hand, he also compliments you when you win. Aside from ship art, he’s probably the most common type of fan art you’ll see.

Hello! I saw you mention that Pyrrha remembers pre-resurrection, and I totally missed that!! Do you have any theories as to why?

I have a few thoughts!

Just for context - because I didn't catch that on my first read either until I started going back through! - there are a few instances that seem to suggest Pyrrha remembers at least some of her life pre-Resurrection. Off the top of my head, I know there's one point where she refers to G1deon as G--, just like John does. Nona also says that Pyrrha calls her "Hairy Maclary", which is referring to a series of children's books by a New Zealand author. Here's a link to a picture and some info about Hairy Maclary... I can definitely understand why Pyrrha would call Nona that lol. This one's super interesting to me in that it's such a fantastic example of the way Tamsyn uses memes and references so skillfully! In the previous books, most of the references are fairly organic in that they're things that could conceivably be, you know, just things the characters say; the readers catch it (if they also know the reference! otherwise they're fairly unobtrusive) but the characters themselves aren't intentionally making a reference. This would be the things like "You can't just ask someone why they want to be a Lyctor" and "a hunger that only thumbs could satisfy," etc. The exception, though, is John. The "none Houses with left grief" particularly is SO fun from an exposition perspective (but if I start on that one I'll never stop), and then of course we have Commander Wake Me Up Inside. The implication here being that John remembers these specific things and is intentionally making those references within the context of the story. Pulling that same expository trick with Pyrrha sets them up as both remembering... at least to some degree. The hints that we get from Pyrrha are such that it's pretty unclear to what extent she remembers, leaving a lot of room for juicy speculation :)

I initially touched on it over on this post where I rambled about names, memory, and the Eightfold Word, but I'm copying over the Pyrrha-specific paragraph so that you don't have to dig for it:

When assisting with Harrow’s lobotomy, Ianthe tells her, “If you push your brain too hard, any surgery could simply heal over.” And in NtN, Pyrrha tells Palamedes, “You should be draining and replacing her fucking brain fluid... When Gideon and I designed that trial, I used to crack his skull and sieve it myself, just as a control variable... The only other people I put through that damn trial were Mercy and Cris, because only Cris didn’t mind being trepanned on the regular.” I don’t know exactly where the threshold is for pushing one’s brain too hard, but I suspect frequently draining and replacing one’s brain fluid is in that ballpark. Which is to say, it’s very possible that Mercy and Pyrrha (and potentially others) could have healed over from anything John had done to their brains.

Also, I don't know why this didn't occur to me as I was writing up that other post, but when Pyrrha's telling Palamedes about how dangerous their uhhhhh living arrangements are, and how they're risking brain damage... Pyrrha and G1deon were operating under somewhat similar circumstances for thousands of years. Cumulatively, it's possible that G1deon's brain was racking up damage that eventually eroded away whatever John had done. Another thought is that maybe the fact that G1deon died and Pyrrha didn't is at play here.

It could very well be less dramatic than that, though. We don't know much about how Lyctorhood impacts the brain, although to be completely fair, we also can't say for certain how a typical human brain would function after ten thousand years of runtime either. Our brains are constantly wiring new neural pathways and rewiring and revising old ones. After thousands of years, might we be reaching a Ship of Theseus situation with regard to the neural circuitry impacting pre-Res memories? Which is a fancy way of saying, "Maybe it wore off."

It could be all of the above, too. Assuming that Lyctor brains retain plasticity like we see in typical human brains (and I'm not letting myself think too hard on implications either way, because in sci-fi/fantasy make-believe land, neuroscience can be whatever you want it to be), we'd probably see that effect happening with the other Lyctors at roughly the same rate, but at least as far as we can tell (and that wording is intentional because I'm not taking anything off the table with this series), the others don't seem to remember. So that might be contributing, but not sufficient on its own. BUT perhaps ten thousand years of rewiring PLUS ten thousand years of cohabitation PLUS however long of being "trepanned on the regular" PLUS G1deon dying might override John's meddling.

We've still got so many open questions here regardless of what the specific mechanisms are. Like, I'd love to know when Pyrrha started to remember exactly. And did G1deon remember anything, then? It seems like he was Straight Up Not Having a Good Time so if he did remember, he might not have been relying on those memories much. Whatever's going on, I'm sure it's just as bonkers as the rest of the series!

Okay so I saw you on a post talking about giving fanfic recs, and I was like “I am always looking for more of my favorite trope, maybe I should poke them”

I am always on the lookout for some good platonic Yandere stuff. That dynamic where some person shows up and does morally dubious things in the name of the person they love.

I have read so much of this, and am always looking for more. I’ve scoured the “vault time” tag in the MHA fandom, read from the larger writing blogs with this genre on tumblr, and so on.

So uhhhhh do you have any recommendations? From either fanfic or other media. I’m not picky, I just want more of this trope.

Hmm. I've not come across too much of this, especially platonically.

But I think basically Merlin and Supernatural in their entirety comprise of this very thing. Merlin's morality and ethical standards seem to lower with every progressive season, and by the end of S5, he is literally unrecognizable from the cheerful kid in S1. Part of it is the trauma, but how much he does for Arthur, how desperate he is to protect him, how he has given everything for him is similar to what you want, and is unsettling at some point in the show. I guess it's the reason Merthur is such a popular ship - people don't believe they'd do this stuff for 'just a friend' (there's also the fact that they're described as 'two sides of the same coin' aka soulmates and it's stated that Arthur is the reason Merlin is born and the purpose of his life which people can't digest as platonic either.)

Supernatural is all about Sam and Dean Winchester's epic bond and how they almost end the world multiple times for each other. 'Psychotically, irrationally, erotically codependent' is how their relationship is described, and it's pretty accurate. I love it, but I also know this show is extremely infamous for other things, so.

As for fanfics, well. Going into these fandoms and searching tags like 'Dark Merlin' gets fics like Dragonfire Wrapped in a Skin of Shadows where Merlin has gone off the deep end and is murdering people in Arthur's name. Torn in which Merlin tortures someone to find a missing Arthur.

by any means necessary is a Hunger Games fic in which Katniss is genuinely as ruthless as she thinks herself as and kills most everyone in the arena to go back home to Prim.

The Smoke series, two Harry Potter fics where Sirius Black isn't entirely human, but he loves James and Harry and will do anything for them - including murder.

I also have some Dark Irondad in my bookmarks! no place like home in which a Tony Stark who lost Peter Parker in another dimension kidnaps the one from the canon dimension and keeps his captive. sweet but psycho where Tony comes back wrong from the dead and adopts Peter against his will after killing his aunt May.

Will You Fight At My Side? is a Blood of Olympus oneshot where Percy jumps in on Jason and Zeus' fight and kills Zeus and threatens all the other gods out of loyalty to Jason.

In the Choices series, Harry Potter is resorted into Slytherin in his second year. Particularly in later installments, he gathers followers who are all immensely loyal to him and he to them. It isn't complete, but the author updates fairly frequently.

unforgiven (I'm a villain) is an MCU oneshot where James Rhodes dies during Civil War and Tony is desperate to get him back - but not before getting revenge brutally.

I’m so glad we have you in the incest ship community; your work is incredible. You pointed out so many things I hadn’t noticed before, like the meaning of June 27’s name and the dynamics between the Van Der Koy family members.

When you pointed out how quickly Boy’s attitude towards Anna had changed, it suddenly came to my mind. Boy hated totalitarianism so much that he lost his attraction towards her instantly. But when it came to June 27, the woman who is his enemy and just beat him up, he thought her pretty instead. It just, uhhhhh!

You had a thought that had never occurred to me before. I drew parallels between Anna and June27 due to vision-Mina's intervention but I had never considered that Boy rejects Anna completely for being a Van Der Koy fan, but seems, at least in that moment when her face is revealed, to fancy June27, an actual Van Der Koy. I'm so glad there were a few nuggets in there that you hadn't noticed or considered. The possibility for the reason for June27's name came to me very last minute as I was wrapping the whole thing up, which I hope means there may still be a few new things left for us fans to discover.

That has to be her name for a reason, right? I had originally thought it could just be a random cool name, but now it feels like it has to point to something, and there don't seem to be any other good options. A cool name for cool name's sake could have been anything, but a date feels like it indicates something. Gideon is the only one who actually calls her that, within the family. No one else addresses her by name (except Boy). So I could see her having adopted that name as a tween/teen. I considered that Melanie might have given it to her, as part of her branding. But I like it better if June27 chose it herself.

I'm trying to decide what to post tomorrow, since it will be June 27th. It should be a holiday, I think. I'll rewatch the movie for sure.
